Pumpkin Family

For Ava's first Halloween we decided to carve some jack-o-lanterns. Here is Ava with the pre-carved pumpkins.

Daddy Pumpkin was provided by Granny O and Freddy O, straight from their backyard pumpkin patch. Mommy Pumpkin was given to us by Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kelly.

We also had two baby pumpkins. So, we let Ava pick which one would be Ava Pumpkin.

Ava was too young to help out, so she sat in her highchair while we did all the work (typical).

Here are the results.

They look just like us, huh?

Just Like Aunt Maddie

A few Sundays ago we dressed Ava in a dress handed down to her by her Aunt Maddie. Ava looked absolutely lovely as you can see.

Ava really loves playing with her Aunt Maddie and was honored to wear one of her old church dresses.
She thinks Aunt Maddie is especially cool because she has so many fun dolls and a really fabulous playroom.

She secretly hopes that Aunt Maddie will give her one of her dolls.

How can you say no to those big puppy dog eyes?

Ed Grimley Junior

Ava had a bath the other day and decided to style her hair.

She went for an Ed Grimley hairdo.

But soon it fell over.

She tried again.

And then gave up.

Witch In Training

We told Ava that she was going to be a witch for Halloween. As you can see, she was very excited.

As she imagined herself dressed up as a witch, she decided she should try to learn some magic spells.

She summoned all of her witch powers in preparation; and then tried and tried to cast a spell on her friend Nala to make her come alive.

She finally gave up, discouraged that her spells would not work.
We told her she could still be a witch even if her spells didn't work. This made her feel better, although she vowed to figure out a way to make Nala come alive some day.

Perhaps we will need to send her to Hogwarts.
