No Time for Photo Ops

This past weekend we babysat our niece Annissa so that her parents could go out for Valentine's Day (and the following night they returned the favor). Ava really enjoyed the time spent playing with her cousin. And we of course had to take some pictures of the two little girls hanging out together.

The girls were getting a little bored so we put on an episode of Disney's Little Einsteins. Annissa quickly established that she was in control of the remote.

They soon became annoyed by our picture taking because we were blocking their view of the television.

Annissa finally decided she had had enough and ventured off for a better view.

Apparently these two little starlets just don't have any time for a photo op. And who can blame them? Those Little Einsteins are so very captivating.

Valentine's Day Blues

Roses are red, but Ava is blue...

...'cuz dad bought some flowers, but they were for Boo.

But Ava is over it, she no longer minds...

...she's playing a ballad for her new Valentine.

(P.S. for those who may not know, "Boo" is Krista's nickname.)

80s Video Flashback

The world of video editing is quite overwhelming. I've been dipping my feet in and I'm realizing that the water is quite deep. I recently downloaded a trial version of Ulead's Video Studio 11 and wanted to give it a quick test. So, I threw together this little video here, which I pulled from the vaults. It is quite simple, but I think you'll enjoy it.

I also watched an online tutorial to learn how to convert my videos using the DivX codec, which is YouTube's preferred format for uploaded videos. As a result, you should notice that the video quality is slightly better. And the original 16:9 aspect ratio has been persevered, which causes the black bars across the top and bottom, but prevents Ava's face from being horizontally compressed.

P.S. This video was shot when Ava was just five weeks old.
